Visiting McCormick Hospital!

Today, we visited the private health care facility McCormick Hospital under the supervision of the Church of Christ of Thailand.  With 400-beds, high technology medical instruments, multispeciality clinic centers, and its centralized location in Chiang Mai, McCormick Hospital boasts passing God's grace through their direct patient care.  Their core values include:

(M): Make the Difference
(H): Humanized Care
(C): Christ Centered

Our group toured their inpatient pharmacy department, outpatient pharmacy department, and their wards.

After touring the pharmacy departments, we were able to see the Hospital's museum of pharmacy artifacts, as pictured below.

In addition to learning about the pharmacy operations, we also learned about the Hospital's folklore.  According to McCormick Hospital's Customer Relations representative, the ward has many spirits and ghost that can be seen during the later shifts.  In one account, a nurse came to visit her patient to give scheduled medications; however, the patient claimed that the "other nurse" had already visited to give those medications.  But there is no other nurse! 👻😲

There are ways to honor these spirits, including constructing shrines, presenting coins, or offering food and drinks to pay respect.  Pictured below is the desk of H.R.H. Prince Mahidol of Songkla, a honored medical resident of the McCormick Hospital.  Atop the desk is one bottled water, to quench the thirst of the beloved Prince.

So be sure to pay your respects to the spirits!

Tomorrow, we will be visiting Tiger Palace...
