Loi Krathong

Loi Krathong is a festival celebrated annually in Thailand on the evening of a full moon in celebration of the River Goddess. Traditionally, Krathong baskets are made which are lit and floated on the river. After our lecture at Chang Mai University, we were able to make a Krathong which we will float on the river tonight!

The Krathong are made from banana leaves that cover a banana stem, folded papaya leaves and flowers.
